Description Markus Elfring 2008-04-03 21:07:55 UTC
I started the currently released tool under openSUSE 10.3. I guess that the message "Scanning all devices..." is displayed for around a minute in the status line of the application window on my personal computer.

I would appreciate if the duration for this procedure can be noticeably reduced.
Can any storage system detection be performed in parallel?
Would you like to recommend any way for more precise time and performance measurement?

Thank you for the bug report Mark.

To reduce the scan time, you can start gparted from the command line and pass a device name to prevent gparted from scanning all devices. For example,

     gparted /dev/sda
