Description micha-78 2008-04-03 16:43:35 UTC

Distribution: Ubuntu 7.10 (gutsy)
Gnome Release: 2.20.1 2007-10-19 (Ubuntu)
BugBuddy Version: 2.18.1

Google Translation of original bug:

"Is there a key combination with the text of I-mode to HTML mode
can change? I am unsure about it all the mails I receive in HTML
to display, on the other hand I get some mails which I like to
HTML would see!"

There is a similar request in Launchpad/Ubuntu:

https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/381066

"When selecting the option "Only ever show PLAIN" under Evolution Preferences > Mail Preferences > HTML Messages > HTML Mode, it is impossible to have evolution show the HTML content of an e-mail.

It would be nice to have the option of clicking a button (a la KMail) to display HTML content, even if Evolution has been instructed to never show HTML content.
Alternatively, an additional option in the aforementioned option something along the lines of "Show PLAIN by default"."

The current evolution (it's 3.16, but 3.12 and for sure also 3.10) has an option to show HTML parts as attachments, if they were hidden due to the prefer-plain settings (it's part of that prefer-plain settings). Turn that on and view the HTML part as the attachment. The switch from Plain to HTML part is not otherwise doable, because the HTML part is fully stripped off (if not added as attachment). The other way around, switching from HTML to its Plain alternative, is available in the context menu of that respective message content (some versions of webkit require left-click to that part first, to bring the right context menu up).
