Description bwallum 2008-03-31 11:03:26 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When a window is maximised, moving the mouse around the top right buttons, the coloured bar that forms the top of the window breaks up. The buttons dissappear but the function remains behind the 'whiteout'.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open any window.
2. Maximise the window.
3. Waggle the mouse around the top right window control buttons.

Actual results:
The colour in the top bar goes to plain white in a jagged way. the window control buttons white out.

Expected results:
Coluor stays in the top bar, buttons remain visible, dimming slightly on mouseover.

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Other information:
This does not happen when the window is less than maximum.

It is not the same bug of 516226
Comment 3 bwallum 2008-03-31 14:26:02 UTC
The above effects DO NOT occur using either the vesa driver or the nvidia-glx-new driver with Visual Effects set to 'None'.

The effects DO happen with the nvidia-glx-new driver and Visual Effects set to 'Normal' or 'Extra'

I am running on Hardy 8.4 beta (2.6.24-12) AMD64, MSI K9N4 Ultra F, nForce 500 Ultra, Athlon 64 X2 4200+, nVidia GeForce 7300 GS.

"None" is Ubuntu-speak for Metacity. "Normal" and "Extra" are Ubuntu-speak for Compiz. Therefore this bug is NOTGNOME, but thanks for providing all that information: I suggest you should take it to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+filebug where they'll be able to make better use of it.
