GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 525263
gvfs-Nautilus and trash applet use different Empty Trash dialogs with different button label concepts
Last modified: 2020-11-06 19:57:49 UTC
Screenshot attached. Nautilus asks for confirmation using "Cancel/Delete" buttons while trash-applet asks for confirmation using "Cancel/Empty Trash" buttons. They should use the same dialogue with the same metaphors. (They also use the word 'seperately' and 'individually' respectively. This isn't a very big deal but in my opinion the two dialogs should be identical.) Other information:

Good catch! I think the button text should be "Empty trash" along with the STOCK_DELETE icon that can be seen in the nautilus dialog.
Please add gnome-love keyword..
Nelson: are you going to work on it? ;-)
(In reply to comment #4) > Nelson: are you going to work on it? ;-) > Not for now, but probably will in a month or two.
btw: the proper fix to this bug, I think, is to get rid of the trashing UI code in the applet and replace it with a Nautilus DBus interface to initiate a trash-empty (as opposed to blind copy/paste of code).
