Description jacques.charroy 2008-03-22 03:32:18 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I have my music library on an external USB disk, using Ubuntu Gutsy with all updates. If I start Rhythmbox with 'watch library folder' enabled, and the USB drive is not connected, the library database gets progressively emptied and it takes time upon next starting rhythmbox to rebuild it (which is automatic) (although not as much time as it would normally take if starting from scratch).

Steps to reproduce:
1. define music library folder on external drive
2. enable watch folder, build rhythmbox music library
3. (close rhythmbox)
4. disconnect external drive
5. restart rhythmbox

Actual results:
music library gets emptied

Expected results:
Rhythmbox should realize that there is a difference between the whole directory not being accessible and just a couple files not found anymore, and it should react accordingly (by highlighting in red the 'Music' icon&text in the left pane for instance)

Does this happen every time?
yes
