Description jacques.charroy 2008-03-02 03:28:18 UTC
Please describe the problem:
when music db has already been created without the 'track new files in library dir' option, then checking this option will create duplicate entries in the library

Steps to reproduce:
1. upon first start of rhythmbox, uncheck library directory tracking if necessary
2. import music directory
3. once import complete, check directory tracking option

Actual results:
see description

Expected results:
either check against existing library elements when it is not empty or a popup window warning about the possibility of duplicate elements, and offering the possibility to clear the db beforehand if user wants.

Does this happen every time?
yes

This only happens when you create symlinks within your library that result in multiple paths to the same files.

Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find.

Thanks for the note, I do have a symlink to the whole library dir.
