Description Murz 2008-02-18 08:12:53 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I use Kubuntu 7.10 (KDE 3.5.8) and Dia last version from Ubuntu repositories. And I can't use clipboard exchange with other programs. When I copy some object in Dia, I can paste it only in Dia, but other programs see clipboard empty (or with old results). And when I copy something from another program (for example, text in Kate), Dia doesn't see it, Dia clipboard is empty or with last copied to clipboard object with Dia.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Load Kate (KDE clipboard is empty).
2. Create some text, select
3. Go to menu Edit -> Copy (or Ctrl-С)
4. Switch to Dia
5. Paste clipboard in Dia (menu Edit -> Paste (or Ctrl-V)
-> Dia doesn't see anything in clipboad!
6. Paste clipboard in Kate (menu Edit -> Paste (or Ctrl-V)
-> Kate have succesfully paste copied text!

Another test:
1. Load Dia (KDE clipboard is empty).
2. Create an object
3. Go to menu Edit -> Copy (or Ctrl-С)
4. Switch to Kate
5. Paste clipboard in Kate (menu Edit -> Paste (or Ctrl-V)
-> Kate doesn't see anything in clipboad!
6. Paste clipboard in Dia (menu Edit -> Paste (or Ctrl-V)
-> Dia have succesfully paste copied object!

Actual results:
Clipboard doesn't changes!

Expected results:
Clipboard must have copied text or object!

Does this happen every time?
Yes, every time

Other Gnome software (for example, Gimp) works good with KDE Clipboard in my system.

If you can point me to a working clipboard transfer for *vectors* I may consider to work on this. Haven't found one not crashing or doing nothing.
