GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 517021
Tooltips for tasks on gantt view
Last modified: 2013-03-12 11:25:52 UTC
Tasks on gantt view could show some info on a tooltip, such as start and due dates, % completed etc. This would be intuitive and make it possible to access such information directly on the gantt view (which is currently impossible). It would be specially valuable when zoom level is low and it's hard to precise tasks start and end on the calendar header.
I would really love this to be added... it seems like such a small thing, but when you are looking at a large project in the GNATT view, currently it is impossible to see both the month and date something falls into... it would be really nice to see the start and end date of a bar on the mouse-over. Even better would be to *always* show the month, even when zoomed in... the "Week #Foo" of the year is not very useful to me. Also, I thin this FR is duplicated in bug 604531.
Please avoid "I want this too" comments as they add nothing but noise and won't help developers do their work faster. If you want to keep informed of the progress, just add yourself to CC. Bug 604531 does not exactly duplicate this report as it implements tooltips but has only so few information in them, so I'm keeping this one open as a tracker of what we could do to enhance the usefulness of the patch there.
Reported the interesting details there, marking this as duplicate now. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 604531 ***
