GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 516379
"about gnome" screen not accessible
Last modified: 2008-02-14 09:00:57 UTC
Please describe the problem: When I activate the about gnome item in system/about gnome and I use flat review I hear nothing except: The cancel button and "pannel". I think this screen is the one that would tell me what version of gnome I am running. So: -Is this screen not accessible with all versions of gnome? -Or should I build gnome from source so I have the latest gnome? If I need to update my gnome what should I do to do this? I am using debian lenny. For the time being while this is been worked on is there a way to check my gnome version for future bug reports? Thanks to anyone that looks into this! Steps to reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Not much useful information is spoken. Expected results: The screen to be voiced and the information to be accessible with speech and braille. Does this happen every time? yes Other information:
Ok same happens with braille... Also it says and brailles "separator". And finally I meant "close" not "Cacnel". Thanks. (And hopefully I added the comment right.)
> -Is this screen not accessible with all versions of gnome? It's an existing bug against libgnomecanvas: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359635 Which we're tracking via this bug: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=355524 > -Or should I build gnome from source so I have the latest gnome? I will leave that question to others. <smile> Perhaps ask on the list? > If I need to update my gnome what should I do to do this? > I am using debian lenny. The list would probably be a good place to make some inquiries. To my knowledge, all of the Orca developers are using Ubuntu and Solaris (or OpenSolaris). > For the time being while this is been worked on is there a way to check my > gnome version for future bug reports? Command line: gnome-about --version > Thanks to anyone that looks into this! Hope this is of some help. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 355524 ***
