I don't know how to translate 'worker', can you give some information about this term in GDM context?

Thanks.
Comment 1 Ray Strode [halfline] 2008-02-11 20:01:46 UTC
worker is a helper process that does things like talk to pam for authentication.

We probably shouldn't be exposing the concept in user visible strings.

What's the msgid?
Comment 2 Claude Paroz 2008-03-04 21:12:58 UTC
msgid "worker exited with status %d"
Comment 3 Claude Paroz 2008-03-04 21:13:34 UTC
Sorry, forgot context:
#: ../daemon/gdm-session-direct.c:1209 ../daemon/gdm-session-direct.c:1227
#, c-format
msgid "worker exited with status %d"
Comment 4 Claude Paroz 2008-03-04 22:02:13 UTC
There is one more here:
#: ../daemon/session-worker-main.c:134
msgid "GNOME Display Manager Session Worker"
msgstr "Gestionnaire de connexions GNOME"

At least a translator comment is required.
Comment 5 Gabor Kelemen 2008-09-14 08:18:49 UTC
How about renaming worker to helper process? Perhaps a bit better.
Comment 6 William Jon McCann 2010-06-04 20:42:44 UTC
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. GNOME developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use.

By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME.
Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME.
Comment 7 Gabor Kelemen 2010-06-04 21:14:31 UTC
There is still an occurrence of this term to eliminate, the one in comment #4:

#: ../daemon/session-worker-main.c:156
msgid "GNOME Display Manager Session Worker"
Comment 8 William Jon McCann 2010-06-19 12:55:08 UTC
Added comment.
