What were you doing when the application crashed?
Trying to open an mp3 file.
NB have just upgraded from debian etch to lenny, and sound card seems to be incompletely configured, but I'm not sure why.

Later:
I "cured" this problem by unchecking the box labelled "Enable software sound mixing (ESD)" in the Sounds tab of the box/window brought up by the System..Preferences..Sound menu.
At least this stops Totem-xine from crashing, and it now plays music fine, but I can no longer hear system sounds, if I wanted too (personally, I'm not too bothered).
I appreciate that this may be a limitation of my on-motherboard SiS sound - but I suppose that Totem shouldn't crash anyway.
Hope this helps,
Barry
