GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 514914
finance::quote
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:00:58 UTC
Please describe the problem: A dependancy of the fiance::quote online stock information engine is not compiled into the windows version. Steps to reproduce: 1. Add any stock or bond asset register. 2. Try to save account after adding ticker symbol. 3. Actual results: Failure message. Expected results: Retrieve close to real time information about stock/bond. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information: Possibly related to the Crypt::SSLeay perl module undocumented dependancy.
Have you tried to install Finance-Quote by clicking on the start menu item labeled "Install Online Price Retrieval"? Why do you know about Crypt::SSLeay but not Finance-Quote? That really confuses me.
Ok, please forget about my second paragraph... [bug description, first sentence]. :-)
Thanks for responding you've pointed me in the right direction. I've found 'install-fq-mods.bat' in the bin directory. This bat asks for ActivePerl, so I've downloaded the ActivePerl-5.10.0.1002-MSWin32-x86-283697.msi from downloads.activestate.com. Okay. How do I add the bin directory to my perl to my path environment?
Please use ActivePerl 5.6 or 5.8 as 5.10 is neither supported right now, nor do we warn about that fact in GnuCash 2.2.3. The problem is that I have not found a Finance-Quote ppm for AP 5.10 yet.
