Description Luca Ferretti 2008-02-02 11:45:15 UTC
It seems that generating src/50-metacity-*key.xml files, translations are ingnored.

I.e the source .xml.in file has:

 <KeyListEntries _name="Desktop" wm_name="Metacity" package="metacity">

and the generated .xml file:

 <KeyListEntries wm_name="Metacity" package="metacity" name="Desktop">

So the Keybinding capplet will show "Desktop" and "Window Management" string untranslated...

Confirmed (with cy_GB). Do you know how to fix this?

Hi :)

This bug is set to NEEDINFO for quite some time now. As this issue is confirmed, I'm setting it to NEW. Feel free to close as INCOMPLETE or OBSOLETE if you like.
Comment 3 Patryk Zawadzki 2009-01-26 09:40:15 UTC
Is there anything to fix? The "package" attribute points to a gettext catalog ("metacity") which in turn should provide translations for all key groups and key names. Works here as expected.
Comment 4 Thomas Thurman 2009-01-27 17:45:36 UTC
Does it in fact translate them in the UI?
Comment 5 Patryk Zawadzki 2009-01-27 19:48:10 UTC
Yes, that's how it's supposed to work (as opposed to stuffing the translations to the XML that seems to be expected by the reporter).

That's how it currently behaves (and it's been this way since we got globally configurable keyboard shortcuts).

Oh, lovely, then.  Thanks.
