Description Thomas D Ahle 2008-01-31 18:29:22 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When I drag a file from file-roller to my desktop, it isn't placed at the location on the desktop where I dragged it, but in the upper left corner of the desktop.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Drag a file to the desktop

Actual results:
The file appears in the upper left corner of the desktop

Expected results:
The file should appear where I dragged it

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find.

Much better bug description in the other bug report, therefor duping this.

Starting with version 3.28, nautilus will not handle the "files on desktop background" feature. For better alternatives, read this blog post https://csorianognome.wordpress.com/2017/12/21/nautilus-desktop-plans/
