Hello, Sorry that this bug was forwarded. But I solved the problem at least by me.

This bug is typical Debian gnome related. So totem-xine itself runs perfect.

But it is a sound problem. To solve it into Debian 4.0 and lenny/sid version

Users just have to install libesd-alsa0  and remove libesd0.

Also set into sound preferences Alsa-Advanced -Linux-sound-Architecture for all sound devices (also for the recording devices.)

modifie esd.conf  and set auto spawn to 1  (Located in /etc/esound)


I gues that this is just with Debian.


An other optionis just to disable the sound server but yes then there are no system sounds anymore.
