It would be nice to have two checkboxes in Epiphany's prefferences, one saying "Automatically download files" and another one labeled with "And open them". The second checkbox would of course only be checkable if the first one has being checked.
I like it to only click on a download-link for some tar.gz but it's really annoying to have the file-roller being opened in the background for X-times.

Other information:
Using Epiphany 2.14.3 on a Debian Lenny.

Debian uses a patch for Epiphany that changes the default behaviour in this respect.
