L10N: wrong "Label with same tag already exists" message?
Last modified: 2008-04-13 03:53:11 UTC
Please describe the problem: Next message is not clear: #: ../e-util/e-util-labels.c:362 msgid "Label with same tag already exists. Rename your label please." msgstr "" Are you sure that it means that a label has a kind of sublabel (tag)? Or maybe wants to say _name_ msgid "Label with same name already exists. Rename your label please." Thanks Steps to reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
I wrote that text as a developer. The name and the tag are two different things for Evolution, somehow. The name is the thing you see in the UI, the tag is the string, based on the name, stored on the server. The tag has changed some "bad symbols" to "good symbols", to be able to store on the server (for example spaces are bad symbols). Somehow two different names can produce same tags. Thus the message. I agree, it's confusing for the user. But say "same name" is not truth, because it doesn't compare names, but tags. I'm not sure how to change the sentence to be as precise as correct and understandable in same time for users.
hmm, reasonible, thanks for the info. either keeping as it is or perhaps "tag on the server" - dooteo, what do you think?
msgid "Label with same tag already exists on the server. Rename your label please." Looks fine... I guess it's not too large string... Thanks
Bumping version to a stable release.
Fixed in revision 35360. "A label having the same tag already exists on the server. Please rename your label."
