Description Fabio 2008-01-13 11:14:35 UTC
is possible to configure (or maybe autoconfigure) Cotrast brightness range saturation??
Comment 1 daniel g. siegel 2008-01-17 21:04:02 UTC
autoconfigure? it should be done automatically.

about the manual configuration: is there any reason to do that?
Comment 2 Fabio 2008-01-17 21:30:18 UTC
reason?

my cheese image is completenly dark, instead in other program the image is good, not really good but better than all dark
Comment 3 daniel g. siegel 2008-01-17 21:39:42 UTC
i think i saw that problem already. could you append a screenshot?
Comment 4 Fabio 2008-01-17 22:15:49 UTC
wow now i cant compile plus the cheese svn, it complain about glib

Requested 'glib-2.0 >= 2.15.1' but version of GLib is 2.14.1

i dont think this dipendance is satisfable, I'm on ubuntu 7.10
Comment 5 daniel g. siegel 2008-01-17 22:31:24 UTC
glib 2.15 is needed for gio. but as svn is for the coming release, its using unstable software as dependencies
Comment 6 Fabio 2008-01-17 23:38:14 UTC
yes, but installing glib can be more critical just for run a webcam manager imho
Comment 7 daniel g. siegel 2008-01-18 09:42:29 UTC
you can wait for the stable version too ;)
Comment 8 Fabio 2008-01-18 10:47:27 UTC
stable version can be compiled with ubuntu 7.10?
Comment 9 daniel g. siegel 2008-01-18 11:14:06 UTC
you need gstreamer >= 0.10.15 for cheese 0.3.0
0.2.4 should work, but does not work as good as 0.3.0
Comment 10 Fabio 2008-01-18 11:16:15 UTC
for gstreamer is no problem, i've compiled all from source, repeat the problem is compile glib...
question: is necessary to use the last version of glib?
Comment 11 daniel g. siegel 2008-01-18 11:25:25 UTC
for 0.3.0, which is coming quite close to svn, just gstreamer is needed
Comment 12 Fabio 2008-01-18 11:27:25 UTC
yes, infact i've saw to you that i've compiled gstreamer from sources.
0.3.0 work

the problem is compiling svn... any solution?
Comment 13 daniel g. siegel 2008-01-18 11:32:24 UTC
compile glib and gio using jhbuild.

but why do you want to try the svn?
Comment 14 Fabio 2008-01-18 11:36:17 UTC
usually i use svn of programs that i'm curious to follow the development
example: rhythmbox, amsn, emesene, rosegarden etc...

but all of this dont require impossible dependencies...

glib is the base of the sistem... is absurd compile it IMHO...

and this is negative for all that wont to test this program
Comment 15 daniel g. siegel 2008-01-26 11:49:33 UTC
the stable glib will be included in gnome 2.22, so i dont see a problem there. if you want to test without installing unstable software, please use the gnome developer kit
Comment 16 Pavel Šefránek 2008-02-12 20:01:32 UTC
Setting to NEEDINFO since reporter is waiting to install newer version of cheese. Then he can reopen this bug.
