As some multimedia players do, F-Spot should be able to a have one or more "photo folder" where you usually copy your new photos, you should be able to set up these folders the first time you open F-Spot or using the preferences dialog.

This should be able to add all new photos to db at startup or each X minutes.

It would be very useful to avoid having to import each time you copy your new photos to your "Images" or "My Photos" folder.
