Description Robin Herrick 2008-01-10 22:26:56 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Select an area of a picture using the magic wand tool. The area gets a moving boundary. Menus stop working - the outline comes up for a couple of seconds then goes, and tools/buttons seem to stop responding. Pressing ctrl+alt+A cancels selection and normal operation resumes. It seems to be related to the complexity of the selection. For simple selections the computer continues to respond ok. As the selection gets more complicated the performance degrades to the point where menus don't come up at all.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a picture with complex gradients in it (eg speckle brush).
2. Use magic wand tool to select an area of a picture.
3. Try selecting menus.
4. Use ctrl+alt+a to cancel selection.

Actual results:
Menus cease to appear.

Expected results:
Menus should continue to appear normally.

Does this happen every time?
Yes
