Description russellmonaghan 2008-01-08 23:21:01 UTC
What were you doing when the application crashed?
I was using the Avant Window Navigator, and Compiz Fusion was running. I had several apps open, including Firefox, Rhythmbox, and Compiz Config Settings Manager. During my login session, I set a few screenlets to start automatically. I also turned remote desktop functionality on, from the System > Administration menu. I then enabled the plugin 'Cubecaps' in the Compiz Config Settings Manger, whereupon compiz crashed. I logged out, and when I logged back in, the login sound played and then gnome hung. The panel would not start up, and neither nautilus nor Compiz appeared to be working. All I got was an orange screen and a cursor. It appears that Nautilus was not able to find my configuration files, and therefore was not starting. However, running 'sudo nautilus' in a terminal worked.
