GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 507178
Screen redrawing fails when browsing transactions
Last modified: 2018-06-29 21:58:30 UTC
I found an issue with gnucash 2.2.2 under windows (xp). If I open up my check account and starting turning the wheel of the mouse to navigate through the transactions, all of sudden the area where the transactions are listed gets blank. Keeping turning the wheel of the mouse causes it to show up again. It seems to be an issue with screen redrawing under XP (haven't tried with linux yet.. will do that soon) I'm attaching an screenshot depicting the gnucash window with the big blank inside it.
Created attachment 102086 [details] Gnucash window with a big blank where there should be transactions
I also have same symptoms, Windows XP SP2
Happens to me on Windows Vista
This is probably a duplicate of bug 502649, but it offers a second method to reproduce the problem.
I have also experienced this on XP SP2. It may be the same as bug 502649, but I'm not sure. I typically don't see the entire register go blank as described, just chunks of it (full rows). The blank chunks will scroll around so if I scroll them down and then back up, they are still blank. The occurrence of them is random for me, so I would think it is possible that some of the comments about when it occurs and on what computers may be a red herrings. I'm pretty sure it is an invalidation problem, because if I minimize the gnc window and then restore it, the blank register rows are always (for me) drawn correctly.
