Description apbw 2008-01-02 10:59:17 UTC
bug: Evolution: [contact editor], [personal information], [birthday] requires a full date but only allows 2-digit years (YY), and does not allow for dates before 1970, nor does it allow explicit entry of the full year (YYYY). This means any birth date before 1970, e.g. 24/02/52, even if selected from 1952 using the inbuilt calendar, is converted to 24/02/2052

This is irritating as birthdays show up in the calendar with the age of the person as well, which is useful. If a date prior to 1970 is entered, the birthday shows up on 31st December instead of the real date. The only way around this is to enter a later (incorrect) year in the date of birth box

I am using Ubuntu 7.10, evolution 2.12.1
suggested remedy- allow the date function to recognise explicit years e.g. 1952
