Additional info. This happens only when xterm of uxterm window is active. It seems that one can not take a screenshot of xterm or uxterm window. I have the default compiz/beryl(?) setup that came with the F7 installation. I'm running it with the open source Xorg 'radeon' driver that also came with F7, if that's of any relevance.
