GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 506170
Unable to print spreadsheet
Last modified: 2007-12-30 03:05:56 UTC
Please describe the problem: Yesterday I had gnumeric 1.6.3 & tried to print: only the bottom 1/4 of all characters printed (except for "Sheet1") and the page and characters were printed upside down. Andreas Guelzow recommended loading a newer version of gnumeric with printing fixes. Today I have tried several: 1) With 1.7.10 and with 1.7.12 :When I click on Print Preview under the File tab, a Paint window overlays the spreadsheet, e.g., a Microsoft Windows paint program is called up by the Print Preview button, I guess, with a name/address of "pr10TA4T-paint". When I click Print, black squares are printed wherever a spreadsheet cell is occupied. 2) With 1.7.91 : There is no installation wizard attached, and my computer cannot open it. I must be doing something simple and wrong, but I know not what. Steps to reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Yes Other information:
To get a preview you need to install and correctly configure a program that can handle pdf files. I have no idea how to do that in an os like MS Windows. GNumeric creates a pdf file and asks the operating system to open it. Under linux you can cofingure which program to use in .gtkrc-2.0 The black squares are clearly a duplicate of bug 444942 that seems to hit some MS Windows users. Thanks for the bug report.
