Description Mildred 2007-12-25 01:10:16 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When I log out, and log in afterwards, I can see the NM applet to ask me to open the keyring and reconnect to the network.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Connect to an encrypted network (i don't know for unencrypted ones)
2. log out
3. log in

Actual results:
Nm disconnects

Expected results:
NM should not disconnects

Does this happen every time?
yes

Comment 1 Mildred 2007-12-25 01:13:52 UTC
Well, in fact it DOES NOT happen every time, i just tried again and it stayed connected.

By the way, I'm using a version labelled 0.7.0 from Fedora 8.
Comment 2 Mildred 2007-12-25 01:18:10 UTC
I tested again, it disconnects when I log out apparently ... In the Linux virtual terminal, ping doesn't work after I log out
Comment 3 Dan Williams 2007-12-25 14:07:53 UTC
This is by design because once you log out, the user settings are no longer available to NetworkManager. You want to copy your conneciton to the system settings, which aren't quite done yet but are in-progress.
Comment 4 Dan Williams 2008-01-10 19:26:44 UTC
This will be fixed with the system settings service in NM 0.7
