GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 501885
i18n strangeness
Last modified: 2008-04-02 23:33:44 UTC
Please describe the problem: My desktop's localization is configured to it_IT.UTF-8, but the menubar of the composer window is displayed in english. Strangely when I move the window dragging the titlebar the localization of the menu changes. Steps to reproduce: 1. set to italian the localization 2. open a composer window and look at the menubar's language 3. move the window the titlebar and look at the menubar's language while dragging Actual results: The language of the menubar changes to italian Expected results: I expect to always have an italian menubar Does this happen every time? Everytime Other information:
Created attachment 100349 [details] this is the composer window when is left to itself
Created attachment 100350 [details] this is the composer window when I move it dragging the titlebar
I can reproduce this (with French), the menu is translated only while I keep the mouse button pressed on the title bar
It is also correct when editing the mail (but not when the focus is on the header fields)
And actually only some menus change language Edit changes, Insert is always correctly translated into French, other ones (File, View, Security, ...) are always in English. For Format it's the same in French but according to the original report's screenshots it's correctly translated.
Created attachment 107458 [details] [review] fix TNEF plugin screwing locale bug was in TNEF attachment plugin which was incorrectly changing gettext configuration for the entire application
