When evince prints pdfs that contain hyperrefs (e.g. links to references in documents generated from LaTeX) it also prints the red and green boxes that appear in the viewer.  Acrobat does not have this behavior and was considered by my masters degree committee to be a bug that they thought I was doing something odd with my formatting.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but we are happy to tell you that the problem has already been fixed. It should be solved in the next software version. You may want to check for a software upgrade.
