GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 501094
File count not updated when moving files from subdir
Last modified: 2017-08-24 12:56:40 UTC
Steps to reproduce: - Create a dir - Create a file in the dir - Cut the file - Paste the file to the same dir as the dir was created in - Check "containing %d items" in statusbar It says "containing 1 item" when it should say "containing 0 items"
This is on a local ext3 files system. Nothing out of the ordinary...
Is this still an issue in recent versions of Nautilus such as 3.0 or 2.32, or can this be closed as OBSOLETE?
Still an issue in 2.32. (Not running 3.0 on this machine so unable to test.)
There is no status bar anymore. There is an overlay but it's for selection only. Marking as obsolete.
Well, the bug is still there. Count is wrong if you select the folder after pasting. Reopening. Tested in 3.24.2. If it works on master, please close again.
It did not sound like you tested though... ?
Oh, I see. I followed the steps to reproduce, but it seems it was missing a couple of steps. I pasted in parent folder using context menu on the pathbar. From your comment 5 I understand that the correct steps are: > Steps to reproduce: > > - Create a dir > - Create a file in the dir > - Cut the file + - Go to dir up > - Paste the file to the same dir as the dir was created in + - Select the dir created in the 1st step > - Check "containing %d items" in statusbar I've just followed these steps and the bug happened in the first try. Then I opened the dir again and then went up again. The bug label was updated to "containing 0 items". Given these results, it may be the same bug as bug 768455.
> Given these results, it may be the same bug as bug 768455. Yes, and it has more information. Marking as dup. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 768455 ***
