GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 500377
Download documentation as pdf
Last modified: 2018-09-24 10:07:33 UTC
currently, library.gnome.org is not as handy as devhelp is (slower, not available offline), and I think pretty much every package builds a .devhelp file anyway. So it would be great if there was a link somewhere to download the documentation and add it to devhelp. Downloadable PDF and HTML versions of the documentation would be welcomed too.
It is already possible to download the documentation as HTML, and the tarballs include devhelp files; removing that part from the bug report. PDF output is waiting for a toolchain; see http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-doc-list/2007-October/msg00044.html

This is fairly easy these days, maybe using docbook2pdf. Actually maybe it would be just as easy to generate PDF for gtk-doc documentation, because it has an intermediate DocBook stage. Or fop works on recent distro versions and gives even better results: http://www.murrayc.com/blog/permalink/2009/01/20/flumotion-documentation/
