Like vte_terminal_im_append_menuitems, there should be a way to add the UI to a GtkUIManager.

I don't understand this stuff, but looks good :).

1) Does it need gtk+ version bump?

2) Update python bindings and other list of apis (docs, etc)

It does. In fact, this needs to wait until the gtk patch is committed :)

It's stuck because the gtk patch hasn't been reviewed yet.

These menus were removed from gtk.
