GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 498766
Loading dia file created in linux version corrupts diagram
Last modified: 2007-11-21 18:35:51 UTC
Please describe the problem: When loading a dia file saved in the linux version of dia (0.96.1 ubuntu repository) most of the connectors are disconnected and misaligned. Steps to reproduce: 1. Save a diagram whith connectors in linux dia 2. Open the diagram in a windows version of dia 3. Actual results: The file opens misaligned an connectors are disconnected Expected results: The diagram shows as it was saved Does this happen every time? yes Other information:
What happens is that Linux and Windows either doesn't use the same fonts for default sans, serif and monospace (if the same fonts are even installed) or doesn't render them exactly the same way due to differences in font rendering engines. The connectors are actually still connected, they just don't get updated by merely opening the diagram. If you select all (Control-A) and move them slightly, they will snap right up, though if the difference is big, some may still look somewhat poorly laid out. One could argue that Dia should do this update automatically. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 108293 ***
