What were you doing when the application crashed?
I have ubuntu 710 installed on a USB stick. After a couple of reboots into 'persistent Ubuntu', I suddenly get an errormessage stating that 'Gnome cannot lock /home/ubuntu/.ICEauthority' after which it more or less halts and shows me an inlog screen for a 'ubuntu user' but that's as far as it gets. I can use the 'Ubuntu live' option on startup and then it proceeds as normal but without the possibility to save data on stick. 

Now, to get to the reason for this bug report. After I got the above errormessage, I have replaced the '.ICEauthority' file with a copy I made right after a fresh install (thinking it might now be corrupt). I then opted to start a 'persistent' Ubuntu (first option on the menu). Ubuntu more or less started up OK and I'm now at my desktop but there's still a bug somewhere, hence this report.
