I have recently upgraded to 7.04 and now help F1 does not work. Should I re-install Evolution and if I do won't I loose all my settings & contacts etc.

don't reinstall, this is not microsoft windows. :-)
this is an Ubuntu problem and has been fixed months ago in GNOME (see bug 386503). please complain to Ubuntu at https://bugs.launchpad.net , thanks.
