This could be a GTK+ problem (2.12.1 in the case of GIMP 2.4.1). My Graphire 3 works as usual, though.
The 2.4.0 installer had GTK+ 2.10. Now the question is, what version did work? Which version of GTK+ was installed with the version of GIMP where this used to work for you?
installed GTK+-2.10.13 Runtime Environment for ms-Windows and now it is working, Thanks! But the question is can for win-versions of gimp, setup kind of dependencies chekker, in my case it is really rear to sit and use my wifes ms-windows. i used more to bsd style like this: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/ports/graphics/gimp-app/ best :) s.
As far as I understand the new installer, it should always use the bundled GTK+ so installing GTK+ 2.10 shouldn't have any effect. This makes the bug report even more confusing and even less useful. Without a more detailed analysis of the problem, I am afraid we will have to close it.
Well, I'd say this is a duplicate of bug #471342. I'm pretty sure that the only effect of GTK+ 2.10.3 was that GIMP was restarted, and that the tablet was recognized this time. I do expect that suwa will still encounter the same problem from time to time.
yep, correct 1) started gimp and w-tablet don't work 2) closed gimp 3) changed gtk user language 4) started gimp -> it is working

Just for the records - it is not necessary to change anything, merely restarting GIMP should be enough.
