Description cpg 2007-11-01 19:26:14 UTC
using pan-0.132 here, updated to handle some asserts.

we found out the hard way that this new pan will not stop downloading rars when there is no more disk space.

it just continues downloading and saving a .ERRORS file for as long as there are a few bytes left, but not the rar file itself.

previous versions of pan would just stop, and that was good, because it would stop the queue until the disk situation would be taken care of.

i looked for preferences to turn on this behavior, but i don't see any.

i still have the session active. it probably raun several hours with no disk space. can i still recover those files or do i have to re-download them?

that's my feedback, it should stop when out of disk :-)

it would be even better if it stopped within a certain disk amount of the destination disk being full, say 200mb, or make it programmable.

Agreed. being able to set a minimum amount of disk space to leave available would be the most user friendly option. I suggest implementing it as an input field that accepts any positive value, 0 included, in Mb, with a default of 200Mb.

Has any progress been made to fix this bug? IMO, it is very severe as it can result in excessive bandwidth charges when Pan keeps getting the same stuff over and over again and failing to save it to disk.
