GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 488013
nautilus quits if I rename a gignatic folder while nautilus is calcuating it's size
Last modified: 2007-11-04 23:26:33 UTC
Steps to reproduce: I extracted a huge source code tarball and opened it's propertied in nautilus. while nautilus was calculating it's size, I renamed the folder by mistake from a terminal. nautilus quit with this error: ** (nautilus:5949): WARNING **: destroyed file still being monitored ** ERROR **: file nautilus-directory-background.c: line 616 (nautilus_connect_background_to_file_metadata): assertion failed: (NAUTILUS_IS_FILE (old_file)) Stack trace: Other information: I have the latest stable gnome-vfs installed.
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Without a stack trace from the crash it's very hard to determine what caused it. Can you get us a stack trace? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so. Please also make sure that you have debuginfo packages installed for nautilus, gtk2 and glib2. Thanks in advance!

Yes, I will definitely provide a stack trace the next time I get nautilus crash.
Created attachment 98385 [details] backtrace for nautilus crash. Christian Kirbach, I'm attaching a backtrace now. (I'll attach it both bugs)
same as bug 425157, going to mark bug 478212 as a duplicate of bug 425157.
