utf8/flush defaults

Update to include utf8 as the default for vfat as well.
Comment 3 Hedayat Vatankhah 2008-11-05 21:48:44 UTC
Please add utf8 option for mounting vfat filesystems. It is extremely needed or else gnome will fail to work correctly in many localized environments. (e.g. I'm unable to create a new "untitiled folder" in my USB stick since I'm using fa locale and gnome is unable to create an untitled folder with its localized name, it is in UTF-8 format)

Any news on this one?

Thanks

Maybe noatime option would also help with performance:

Comment 6 Leonardo Ferreira Fontenelle 2009-10-04 16:02:09 UTC
HAL depends on gnome-mount to enable the correct character encoding. This is already done my newbie-friendly distros, but I don't see any reason to don't have this upstream ASAP.
Comment 7 André Klapper 2012-02-28 12:30:10 UTC
"gnome-mount" will not see active development anymore according to its developers (as HAL is also dead).
Closing this report as WONTFIX - Please feel free to reopen this bug report in
the future if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
