This bug is a piece of bug #376991.  I'm breaking things up to try and expedite
the simple parts.

From bug #376991:

- Use GKeyFile instead of the deprecated "gnome-config" API for reading from
  and writing to the account passwords file (~/.gnome2_private/Evolution).

I shipped the following patch in Fedora 7.

Tested the hell out of this since I've had bad luck changing the passwords code in the past.  Seems to work okay for me.

Committed to Subversion trunk (revision 8174).
