GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 487071
Iagno hanges when attempting to start a network game
Last modified: 2010-05-08 20:04:13 UTC
The bug has been opened on https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153126 "Binary package hint: gnome-games Steps to reproduce: Select Game menu->Network game... Consequence: Application hangs. Other games work fine with networking, only Iagno has this problem as far as I can tell. I am using Gutsy, gnome-games 1:2.20.0.1-0ubuntu2."
Created attachment 97937 [details] screenshot I can play iagno with network on ubuntu-7.10(see screenshot). I installed ubuntu-7.10 from DVD, after downloaded from next, http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/gutsy/release/ubuntu-7.10-dvd-i386.iso and gnome-games(2.20.0.1) was installed by default. I can play iagno-2.20.0.1 with network on Fedora-7 too. Now I can't understand why you can't play iagno with network on ubuntu-7.10. Please show your install process.
Same here with gnome-games 2.20.3 on a sid system. It happens with both the internal ggz copy and the external version.
Created attachment 105430 [details] [review] Patch to prevent the hanging - not a proper fix though! This seems to be caused because the iagno window is set to non-resizable. gnect and gnibbles are both resizable and the attached patch makes the iagno window resizable and it no longer hangs. I guess that means this bug depends on bug #80240.
Yes, this should be fixed as part of bug #80240.
Created attachment 117434 [details] [review] Wrap GtkScrolledWindow around ggzbox Hi, I also made a not proper patch. Set the window re-sizable is still not working sometimes. Thus I wrap a GtkScrolledWindow around the ggzbox so if the size is not enough, the scrolled bar appears. It's ugly but work.
Setting patch status; this is not a proper fix (see comment 5).
GGZ has been removed from master so Iagno needs to have its multiplayer reimplemented in Telepathy Tubes.
