Description Daniel Duran 2007-10-14 02:19:34 UTC
I am using GnuCash with its spanish translation. So I will use the spanish names.

Today October 13 I tried to set some expenses in a 'Caja' account. The date showed by default 'Oct.12'. I tried to set it manually by keyboard to Oct.13, and the date returned to 'Oct.12'. If I use the graphical calentar, Oct.13 could be 'selected' but it was not 'highlighted'.

Therefore, for some reason I can't set the current date for that entry.

I can make the register print "oct.12" and all other dates as well here using the graphical calendar. Please check and report your short date format settings in Control Panel > Regional Settings > Adjust...
A workaround may be to use keybindings like +/- and [/] without the popup.
Comment 2 Daniel Duran 2007-10-15 00:17:12 UTC
I am able to change the date to Oct. 11, Oct. 12 or Oct 14, but not Oct 13. Problem happens only with October 13.

Maybe this could be important: it is version build r16462 of 2007-08-20 for windows.

I tried the key binding +/- and / suggested and the behavior is very curious:

if I set a date under Oct 13 and I press several times '+' key, the date change sequence is:

Oct 10 -> Oct 11 -> Oct 12 -> Oct 12 -> Oct 12 -> Oct 12 ...

So, going down-top, the date get freezes at Oct.12 and it never sets Oct.13.

If I set a date over Oct 13 and I press several times '-' key, the date change sequence is:

Oct 15 -> Oct 14 -> Oct 12 -> Oct 11 -> Oct 10 ...

So, going top-down the date *skips* Oct 13!!!

Pressing '/' and typing "13-10-2007" is useless, because GnuCash changes the date back to "12-10-2007".

Note that the set-up is "dd-mm-yyyy", and introducing dates like "14-10-2007" in GnuCash is perfectly allowed by all the methods (manual editing, /, pop-up).

The windows setup for short date currently shows "14-10-2007" too (dd-mm-yyyy).

I am using the 2.2.6 svn r17438, and I have a similar problem. On mine, the graphical calculator will not allow me to select a date, and anytime I try to change the date from October 1, 2008, the date always returns. I noticed that there were problems with the 2.2.5 graphical calculator, but I could always change the date by typing it in. Now, I can't even type the correct date. I've also tried using the +/- key bindings, but they are ineffective. Oddly enough, I can still type dates in the registers, but not for reconciling or manual stock price updates, etc.

The date entry has changed quite a bit in GnuCash 2.2.7, may you please retest with that version?
Thanks!

I tried with 2.2.7, and it works great.
