GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 486258
ability to view all unspecified transfers and assign accounts to multiple entries
Last modified: 2018-06-29 21:51:48 UTC
When viewing a bank account (for example), after importing transactions from the bank, there are typically many which have "Unspecified" listed for either the credit or debit accounts. In cases where several of these transactions should have the same credit or debit account, it would be very convenient to have a tool which displays all of the entries with "Unspecified" (either all the unspecified credit account entries, or all the unspecified debit account entries), and allows the user to select several of the entries, and assign an account to all of those entries selected.
It may also be nice for this tool to have the option of showing not only unspecified entries, but all entries -- even those whose credit/debit accounts are specified. Perhaps this is the ideal: show the user a list of all accounts (including the "Unspecified" account), and a radio box to select between credit accounts or debit accounts. Then the user can select any combination of the listed accounts, and choose whether to show entries whose [credit or debit]-account matches one of those selected.
It now occurs to me that this is really just a matter of enhancing the search results window: 1) user searches for transactions matching certain criteria. 2) in search results window, several entries can be selected, and a debit or credit account assigned to them.
Uh, open the "Unspecified" register? Bulk transaction modification is Bug#364387. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 364387 ***
