GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 482526
E-mail list truncated in To/Cc/Bcc
Last modified: 2009-10-15 12:36:12 UTC
Please describe the problem: When I send an email to a relatively huge list (450 bytes), either in "to" or "cc", everyone in the list receive the mail but not with the full list, it's truncated. Steps to reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
if everybody receives the email, the list must be complete, right? so if the full list is not displayed in their email applications, that's not evolution's fault.
I'm sure it has something to do with evolution (at least partially), here is why: 1 - Nobody can't see the full list, despite the client they're using, thunderbird, outlook, osx mail, and even evolution. 2 - And yes, they're displaying the full header, as proof, they can't reply to all because it's also truncated here. 3 - Even I, if I add my own mail to the list, I receive a truncated mails list. 4 - If other people (except 2, see 5) also try to send a mail to a huge list, even huger than mine, everything is OK. 5 - It happens here only with 2 people (including me) and we are both the only ones here to use evolution.
(In reply to comment #2) > 3 - Even I, if I add my own mail to the list, I receive a truncated mails list. strange. can you attach the message source of the received email here? (please remove any confidential data before)

Created attachment 143976 [details] [review] proposed eds patch for evolution-data-server; For some reason the To/CC/BCC fields had been written in raw, but I didn't find any notice forbidding folding for these in RFC 2822, thus allowing folding of them in this patch.
Created commit 3436f7b in eds master (2.29.1+) Master only, no critical issue (no duplicates).
