GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 481437
Evolution should not show an attachment icon when there is just a signature
Last modified: 2008-02-19 15:01:12 UTC
It is really confusing when you receive a gpg-signed e-mail and Evolution displays an attachment icon next to the message, but does not list any attachmets. This is especially confusing for new and unexperienced users. Other information: I understand that the signature is technically an attachment, but please, either remove it, if there are no other attachments or replace it with a symbol that tells the user that the message is signed and/or encrypted.
can you attach a sample message? also note that evolution can't possibly be able to guarantee that there is an attachment or not... this is just a guess based on the toplevel mime type afair.
Created attachment 96469 [details] A pgp signed message I think it could easily be guessed whether the message is signed by simply looking at the Content-Type header (multipart/signed).
The content types multipart/signed and multipart/encrypted are defined in RFC 1847 (http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1847.html).
+1. Could this be linked to bug 478239 by any chance?
I will mark this as duplicate and I will try to solve this together with it. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 478239 ***
