Description Eetu Huisman 2007-09-28 18:33:00 UTC
There should be a screensaver included with gnome-screensaver, which would show a fullscreen analog clock (preferably blending in with the look of the gtk and icon themes the user has).

I understand that gnome-screensaver mainly uses screensavers from xscreensaver, but this would be a nice addition to those.

Just an idea: how hard would it be to allow gnome-screensaver to use KDE screensavers?

still unconfirmed...

Why don't they add support for KDE screensavers? I use KDE programs with Gnome constantly (I prefer konsole, kate and amarok over gnome-terminal, gedit and totem).

Now, I'm fighting with my laptop because Gnome refuses to use 2 KDE screensavers (kanjisaver & kannasaver).

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. GNOME developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use.

By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME.
Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME.

If this is fixed in gnome-screensaver-3 (don't know as I still use gnome 2.32),
the status would be FIXED, not OBSOLETE

Since a clock was added in gnome-screensaver-3, maybe this is no longer needed, in that case proper resolution would probably be "WONTFIX" (or similar)

Thanks
