GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 481348
Implement fill level of scales for all engines
Last modified: 2014-04-05 17:02:09 UTC
In GTK+ 2.12 there is a new fill level feature for scales. This is currently only implemented in the Clearlooks GUMMY style though. To make the GTK+ feature useful for applications, themes need to support it.
Redmond theme won't want this, as it is not "authentic".
Hm, even if it is not authentic, I think it would be better to have something rather than a usability issue. (Not that anyone is using this feature currently)
"less features means less work"... So I totally agree with thos :) let's start fix *more important things* like clearlooks's focus function, clearlooks's compact theme, dark themes... and when we will have nothing to do (erm... never? :D) we will work on this. Cheers from Italy ;)
I think that it would be good to have something, as otherwise we end up beeing the "bad" people that "block" a GTK+ feature.
btw. A usecase for this is the gnome-volume-control in GNOME 2.28. They want to display some volume meter in the slider.
This project is not under active development anymore (except for buildtools, the last 'real' code change happened in October 2010). According to developers, it is currently unlikely that there will be any further active development. Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this bug report in the future if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
