Description Sven Anders 2007-09-28 07:43:59 UTC
It would be nice, if tasks could be stored on a caldav server.
Additional the scheduler should honor dates/appointments set in on the caldav (or ical) server, i.e. lock these days.

This would make the program really usable, because we would access one central storage for our calendar data.

Hi Sven, I didn't get the "Additional" part, but the previous one is part of bug #359745, thus marking as duplicate. Is the "lock these days" meant as "show as busy", which is an option with an event?

Hmm... This bug/enhancement report is for "Planner" not "Evolution".

Did you mix up something here?

Oops, I'm so sorry, I overlooked that... Reopening...

I think tight integration with Evolution would be fantastic, not only for tasks, but also for workers. I don't think the feature should use CalDAV specifically, but access the tasklists from Evolution Data Server instead.

When the planning is done, work has been assigned to the right people, the project manager would click "Inform coworkers" and Evolution tasks will be sent to the appropriate people, who can then easily add that task to their Evolution tasklist. If possible, this should work the other way too, so that the workers can send updated information back and the project manager can import those changes into Planner. As a plugin for Evolution maybe? Not everything should be "writable" by the workers though; priority, time restraints, etc, is a planning issue and should be read-only to workers, meaning that it should not be imported into Planner. Something might be important in respect to this project, but other tasks belonging to other, more important projects, will have higher priority for the worker. The comments should be imported though.
