Description Andreas Nilsson 2007-09-26 12:37:42 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When I click the "Add files" toolbar item and want to add both a couple of files and a folder to a archives, the Add-button don't do anything, no matter how many times I click it.
Using the add-folder menu item don't work either, because then the files are all greyed out.
Apparently it works to add both files and folders at the same time when creating archives in Nautilus.

Does this happen every time?

Also it would be very helpful to remove the distinction between adding folders and files (there are currently 2 buttons for this in the UI). Just one "add" action (or folders and files alike), and perhaps even a remove action there would make more sense, IMHO

I can confirm this and I agree with Michael. Just one button to add more (files|folders)
Comment 3 Paolo Bacchilega 2010-01-22 10:35:17 UTC
the problem is that the gtk file chooser dialog doesn't allow to select files and folders at the same time

Oh, I didn't know about it. Should we report it as enhancement/suggestion to the gtk hackers? I think some other projects would benefit from it.

It's already reported and even an user mentions file-roller.

Setting "Depends on".

Paolo, can you talk with anyone in order to speed-up the process?
Comment 7 André Klapper 2020-11-11 19:12:30 UTC
bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all old bug reports and feature requests in GNOME Bugzilla which have not seen updates for a long time.

If you still use file-roller and if you still see this bug / want this feature in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/file-roller/-/issues/

Thank you for creating this report and we are sorry it could not be implemented (volunteer workforce and time is limited).
