Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Unfortunately, that stack trace is missing some elements that will help a lot to solve the problem, so it will be hard for the developers to fix that crash. Can you get us a stack trace with debugging symbols? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so and reopen this bug or report a new one. Thanks in advance!

Hi, Sorry I've had to create a new account because I lost my password. I'm sorry, but I have installed Debian unstable again and it's ok. I will reinstall the nvidia driver soon and if there's the same bug, I will send more info on it, as you request.

I noticed that synaptic wasn't my culprit, it's now down to gksu. To helps things out, I attempted to install all available debugging packages, here's the output of former bug 484592: Distribution: Debian 3.1 (sarge) Gnome Release: 2.20.0 2007-09-21 (Debian) BugBuddy Version: 2.20.0 System: Linux 2.6.22-2-amd64 #1 SMP Thu Aug 30 23:43:59 UTC 2007 x86_64 X Vendor: The X.Org Foundation X Vendor Release: 10400000 Selinux: No Accessibility: Disabled GTK+ Theme: Glossy Icon Theme: gnome Memory status: size: 280399872 vsize: 280399872 resident: 29065216 share: 13631488 rss: 29065216 rss_rlim: 18446744073709551615 CPU usage: start_time: 1191874724 rtime: 134 utime: 122 stime: 12 cutime:0 cstime: 0 timeout: 0 it_real_value: 0 frequency: 100 Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/gnome-panel' Using host libthread_db library "/lib/libthread_db.so.1".
