Description Colin Smith 2007-09-20 19:11:38 UTC
When using the panel in a vertical orientation with a width of 120 pixels, the window list applet repeatedly switches between one column and two columns. Particularly when there are around 8 entries in the list. The flipping between columns makes it basically unusable.

The window list used to remain in a single column when used with a vertical panel no matter how many entries were in the list. The behaviour also doesn't appear to be configurable through preferences.

It also requires pressing the button several times before it will bring it to the foreground.

I'd include a screenshot but there doesn't appear to be any facility to upload one.

I have exactly the same issue.

What's really cool is that I can now switch between one and two-column layout by changing the title of a window.

All I have to do is change directory into a directory with an odd number of characters in its name, which makes the title of the gnome-terminal window switch between an odd and an even number of characters.

For a small demonstration of this neat but really annoying effect, see the attached screenshots "one-column.png" and "two-column.png".
